Liquid Rhinoplasty

Sharpen Your Side Profile

What is a Liquid Rhino?

A liquid rhinoplasty, sometimes called a non surgical nose job, reshapes the appearance of the nose using injectable hyaluronic acid rather than surgery. At FRZN it is done with Restylane L, an HA filler chosen for its firm, precise hold. Small, carefully placed amounts can soften the look of a dorsal bump, lift and support the tip, straighten the line of the bridge, and bring the nose into better balance with the rest of the face. It does not make the nose smaller and it does not replace surgical rhinoplasty. What it does is refine shape and symmetry, with a result you can see the same day.

How it works

The nose is one of the most technique sensitive areas to treat, so placement is deliberate and conservative. Filler is positioned in specific planes to add support and camouflage irregularities, often making a bump look smoother by building slightly above and below it rather than removing anything. Because Restylane L is a hyaluronic acid, it is dissolvable, which adds a layer of control, since the result can be refined or reversed with hyaluronidase if that is ever needed.

A Note on Safety

The nose sits in a higher risk area for filler because of the blood vessels that supply the skin here. In rare cases, filler placed into or pressing on a vessel can cause serious complications, which is why a liquid rhinoplasty should only be performed by an experienced injector who understands the vascular anatomy, uses careful technique, injects slowly at low pressure, and is trained to recognize and manage a complication right away.

At FRZN this treatment is performed by a board certified nurse practitioner, and hyaluronidase is kept on hand to dissolve filler quickly if it is ever needed. If you are considering a surgical rhinoplasty in the future, tell me at your consultation. Filler can complicate or delay surgery, so timing and candidacy are reviewed before we begin.

A few things people ask me:

What to expect

Treatment takes about thirty minutes. The area is numbed for comfort, and filler is placed slowly with frequent checks to your profile. You may have mild swelling, tenderness, or a small bruise for a few days. Results are visible immediately and settle over one to two weeks as any swelling resolves. Depending on the amount used and how your body metabolizes it, results typically last around a year or longer.

Who it is for

A liquid rhinoplasty suits people who want to smooth a bump, refine the tip, straighten the profile, or correct a small asymmetry without surgery and without downtime. It is well suited to minor refinements. It is not a fit for reducing the overall size of the nose, correcting breathing problems, or making large structural changes, which remain in the realm of surgery. At your consultation we determine whether filler will give you the result you are after or whether a surgical referral is the better path.

Is it reversible?

Yes. Restylane L is a hyaluronic acid filler, so it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you want to adjust or undo the result.

Does it hurt?

Most people tolerate it well. The area is numbed first, and you feel pressure more than sharp pain. Treatment is quick.

How long does it last?

Typically around a year or longer, though it varies with the amount placed and your metabolism.

Can I have a surgical rhinoplasty later?

Possibly, but tell me first. Filler in the nose can complicate or delay surgery, so if surgery is on your radar we talk through timing and whether filler is the right move for you now.

What are the risks?

Mild swelling, tenderness, and bruising are common and short lived. The serious risks are rare and vascular in nature, which is exactly why provider experience, careful technique, and having hyaluronidase on hand matter so much. All of this is reviewed with you before treatment.

Will it make my nose look bigger?

The goal is refinement, not size. Small, precise amounts are used to balance and straighten the profile, and the approach is intentionally conservative.
