The FrostFit Weight Management Program

Weight management at FRZN is a prescription program directed by a board certified nurse practitioner. Care begins with a medical evaluation and baseline labs where indicated, followed by an individualized titration schedule and a required monthly follow up to continue care, adjust your dose, and receive your next vials. Treatment is dispensed only after screening confirms you are an appropriate candidate, and your plan is adjusted over time based on how you respond.

How GLP-1 medications work

Semaglutide is a glucagon like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It mimics the GLP-1 hormone your gut releases after eating, and by activating GLP-1 receptors it increases glucose dependent insulin secretion, moderates glucagon release, and slows gastric emptying. Clinically, this reduces appetite and prolongs the feeling of fullness, which supports a sustained reduction in caloric intake. In clinical trials, semaglutide produced significant, dose dependent weight reduction when paired with nutrition and lifestyle changes.

Dosing and titration

Semaglutide is given as a once weekly subcutaneous injection. Treatment starts at a low dose and increases in stages over several weeks, which reduces gastrointestinal side effects and gives your body time to adjust. Your schedule is individualized and advanced only once the current dose is well tolerated, which is part of why the monthly follow up matters. Many patients notice appetite changes within the first few weeks, with progressive weight reduction over the following months as the dose reaches its effective range.

Where NAD+ fits in

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme present in every cell and central to mitochondrial energy production and cellular repair. Within this program it is available as an adjunct to support energy and metabolic function during a period of reduced intake. NAD+ is not a weight loss medication and does not induce fat loss. It is offered strictly as supportive care alongside the primary therapy.

Candidacy and screening

Candidacy is determined at your evaluation based on your medical history, current medications, and clinical goals. Semaglutide is contraindicated in anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2, and it is used with added caution in those with a history of pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, or significant gastrointestinal conditions. It is not used during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. A complete review of your history is done before any prescription is issued.

Monitoring and side effects

At each monthly follow up you will have your response assessed, tolerability reviewed, and dose adjusted as appropriate, and this is also when your next vials are provided. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal, primarily nausea, and tend to occur early and around dose increases; they are usually mild and improve as your body adapts. Less common and rare effects, along with the warning signs to watch for, are reviewed with you in detail before treatment begins. You will also receive clear instruction on injection technique, medication storage, and what to report between visits.

A few things people ask me

How do I get started?
It begins with an initial consultation, which is $50 and can be done by telehealth. There we review your history, confirm you are a candidate, and build your plan before any prescription is issued.

Is a monthly follow up required?
Yes. A monthly follow up is required to continue the program. It is when we review how you are responding, adjust or titrate your dose, and provide your next vials.

How much does the FrostFit program cost in Frisco?
The initial consultation is $50 with telehealth available, and the program is $350 per month on a 16 week minimum, which includes clinical oversight, lab work where indicated, and program perks, with compounded semaglutide and NAD+ support.

Is this the same as Ozempic or Wegovy?
Ozempic and Wegovy are brand name semaglutide. This program uses compounded semaglutide, which contains the same active ingredient prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy. The differences are reviewed with you at your consultation.

How is it administered?
It is a once weekly subcutaneous injection that you self administer at home after in office instruction. The dose is titrated upward in stages under supervision.

Does NAD+ cause weight loss?
No. NAD+ supports cellular energy and metabolism and may help you feel better during treatment, but it does not produce weight loss. The therapeutic effect comes from semaglutide combined with nutrition and lifestyle changes.

What are the common side effects?
Gastrointestinal effects are most common, including nausea and occasionally vomiting, constipation, or diarrhea, usually early in treatment or after a dose increase. Titrating slowly reduces these, and they are managed as part of your follow up care.

Who should not take semaglutide?
It is contraindicated with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2, and is used with caution in those with a history of pancreatitis or certain gastrointestinal or gallbladder conditions. It is not used in pregnancy. Your full history is screened before any prescription is written.
