Lip Flip vs Lip Filler
Two ways to enhance your lips, and they do completely different things. Here is how a lip flip compares to filler, so you walk in knowing which one fits what you actually want. Placed by a board certified nurse practitioner.
Book a ConsultationDifferent tools, different goals
People use lip flip and lip filler like they are the same treatment. They are not. A lip flip uses a few units of tox to relax the upper lip so it rolls slightly outward. Filler uses hyaluronic acid to actually add volume and shape. One softens and reveals a little more of what you have. The other builds. Choosing well starts with knowing which problem you are solving.
The lip flip, in plain terms
A lip flip is a small amount of tox, Daxxify or Botox, placed along the upper lip border. It relaxes the muscle just enough that the edge of your lip rolls gently up and out, showing a touch more lip without any added volume. It is subtle by design. It is also a go to for softening a gummy smile, where a lot of gum shows when you grin.
It is quick, there is no real downtime, and results settle over a few days. Because it uses very little product in an area that moves constantly, a lip flip lasts around two to three months, shorter than filler. It is a favorite for first timers and for anyone who wants their enhancement to read as nothing more than a good day.
Lip filler, in plain terms
Lip filler is hyaluronic acid placed in the lip to add real volume, shape, hydration, and definition. It can build structure, balance a top and bottom lip that do not match, smooth fine lip lines, and create a fuller look that a flip simply cannot. Results are immediate and last roughly six to twelve months depending on the product and how your body metabolizes it. If volume or shape is the goal, filler is the tool. Which one is right for you
If you want a subtle lift, a little more lip when you smile, or help with a gummy smile, the lip flip is often the right first step. If you want real volume, a defined shape, or you are balancing lips that do not match, filler is the tool that gets you there. Plenty of people use both: a flip to ease the upper lip and filler to shape and support it. That is a plan, not a guess, and it is exactly what a consultation is for.
Why a nurse practitioner matters
Lips are vascular and unforgiving, which is why the hands placing the product matter as much as the product itself. FRZN is led by Alyssa Hoover, a board certified acute care nurse practitioner who still works in the ER and keeps emergency protocols and reversal on hand. The goal is always lips that still look like yours, dosed to enhance rather than overdo.
Frequently asked questions
Does a lip flip make my lips bigger?
Not in the way filler does. A lip flip relaxes the upper lip so it rolls slightly outward and shows a little more lip. It does not add volume. For real fullness, that is filler.
Lip flip or lip filler, which should I pick?
Choose a flip for a subtle lift, a gummy smile, or a first step. Choose filler for volume, shape, and definition. Many people combine the two, which we map at your consultation.
How long does a lip flip last?
Around two to three months. It uses a small amount of product in an area that moves all day, so it fades faster than filler.
Can I get both a flip and filler?
Yes. They work well together and are often planned as a pair. We decide timing and amounts at your visit.
Does a lip flip hurt, and is there downtime?
It is a few tiny injections and takes minutes, with little to no downtime.
How much is a lip flip in Frisco?
A lip flip is $104. Filler is priced per syringe, and both are on the price list.
